  1. Our 4 year old Samsung Inverter Refrigerator forms ice at the bottom of the refrigerator cabinet below the vegetable bins. We keep the freezer compartment setting at 4*F and the fridge at 40*F.
We live in a tropically humid area year round.
Might someone have a hunch what our problem might be?

    • There is a Samsung Service Bulletin (they don’t call it a recall) on this very common problem. Web Search for Samsung Ice Maker Recall. One of the links will be to the bulletin on Samsung web site. On Samsung web site, find support forum, sign up so you can post there, open a problem about this or add an entry to one of the existing forum pages. Samsung seems to be responding by asking for a private message asking for your serial number and other info. I get the impression they are fixing it for free although that is up to them.

  5. I have a 5+ year old Samsung refrigerator that has required 4 service repairs. The initial service call was covered under warranty the last 3 have been out of my pocket. The 1st service call was on the water dispenser (the internal water supply line froze). The second service calls was because the freezer stopped working. (Most of the food defrosted and had to be discarded.) The third service call the ice maker stopped dispensing ice, and the most recent service call (June 2021) was because the top refrigerator of the unit would not keep the food cold, (all food had to be thrown out as it spoiled). I just noticed yesterday evening that one of the fans has started making a loud noise. Initially I thought the noise was from internal vibration, but when I open the refrigerator door the fan motor seems to be de-energized costing to a stop, when the fan stops the noise stops. When the door is closed and the fan restarts the noise restarts. I have a feeling that I will need to contact a service company for a 5th time. I have had it with this refrigerator. I would never buy or recommend a Samsung refrigerator to anyone.

  7. The ice dispenser leaks water. I have emptied the ice mold twice now and also removed ice from the bucket to see if ice is stuck or auger isn’t pushing ice forward. I use both dispensers about three times a day. So now the water is turned off. It is only one year old. It’s has French doors.

    • Hi Ceta,
Thank you very much for your message.
      Below information should be help.

“If your refrigerator water dispenser is dripping water, it could be because there is air trapped in the water line, causing a build up of pressure that is forcing some water to seep through the dispenser opening. You should purge the tank if this is happening.

All you’ll need to do is get a cup and hold it under the dispenser, pressing in the trigger to fill the cup. Keep running the water dispenser for two to three minutes. This should be ample time to get all the air out of the tank and stop the problem if this is in fact the cause.”

  12. had a problem with the audio warning for open door constant on. The repairman fixed. Now, the water dispenser only dispenses 5 oz at a time. The measured fill doesn’t work at all. Repairman is trying to calibrate but it won’t. Now it’s a new problem, but only happened after the last problem was resolved. Disappointing. Do we need to get a new dispenser control board? Can we replace that ourselves? Thanks

  14. Have owned my Samsung refrigerator (Model # RF27T5241) since mid-May 2020. The refrigerator is now just 7 months old (December 2021). According to the manual, the filter indicator light should start to blink at around six months, notifying the user to change the filter. Should I assume something is wrong with the indicator light or is it just that I have not dispensed the 300 gallons required to trigger the reset? Thanks.

  20. We have Samsung RF4267hars/xaa. We do not have it hooked up to water to make ice or dispense water. (we moved the refrigerator to an outside shed) We are getting error messages 14E and 39E. We know they both have to do with the ice maker. (again, we do not want to make ice or dispense water) How do we reset/ the flashing error codes. We want to see the temperatures of fridge and freezer…not the flashing error codes. Do we remove the ice maker? Reset the ice maker?
    Thanks for your help.

  22. I have a Samsung convertible top freezer, and for the second time, a big blob of ice has formed in the fridge part, which took a day just to steam off enough to be able to turn the dual down to vacation. I am too small and old to pull it away and unplug it, so it’s taking forever to melt the ice out, and of course food can’t be safely kept in it. What can I safely do to move this along? How can the drain be cleared if that’s the problem?
Local repairmen are totally unreliable. I got a recommendation from the store where I bought it, and it’s been almost a month and still no show.
